Deanne Brandstetter, MBA, RD, CDN, FAND

Deanne Brandstetter, M.B.A., R.D. has over thirty years of experience in the food and nutrition business. As Vice President of Nutrition & Wellness for Compass Group, North America, she leads a team that coordinates wellness programs for foodservice clients and develops innovative & award winning cross sector nutrition & wellness initiatives.
Deanne’s marketing background and passion for great food has fueled her goal of creatively translating medical and nutrition science into innovative exciting food concepts for Compass Group customers.

 

Jennifer E. Seyler, MBA, MS, RD
Chair Elect

   

Jennifer Seyler is a vision-driven, goal-focused executive with record of achievement and innovated thinking. She has 15+ years’ experience working with CPGs, commodities and non-profits and has established a reputation as a transformational leader who is driven by challenge, undeterred by obstacles, and committed to furthering standards of excellence. Her knowledge of nutrition combined with her business acumen allows her to provide clients with strategic planning, annual operating plan development, brand positioning, competitive market analysis, influencer marketing and messaging, business development and fundraising, organizational efficiencies, maximizing revenues, to harnessing team strengths for improved companywide performance. She is currently an adjunct teacher at Elmhurst College teaching Consumer Behavior, and the CEO of Business Strategy and Operation Consulting, LLC. Seyler lives in Elmhurst, IL with her husband Eric, sons Major (7) and Levi (6), and two dogs, Maxi and Sadie.

Missy Schaaphok, RD

Missy is the head dietitian for Taco Bell Corp. spearheading the strategic global efforts for nutrition and sustainability. Within this role, she is responsible for sensible menu development, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, animal welfare, and sustainability. She works closely with executive, legal, brand marketing, and public relations teams to communicate Taco Bell’s commitment to quality and affordable food experiences. Prior to joining Taco Bell, she taught women and children essential culinary nutrition skills, and published a cookbook called WIC Tested, Dietitian Approved for the WIC Program. 

 

  Sarah Hendren, MS, RDN, LDN, CD
Treasurer

 

Sarah Hendren, MS, RDN, LD, CD, is the Nutrition & Quality Assurance Manager for Culver’s. She is responsible for executing the nutrition strategy and provides brand direction as part of Culver’s Menu Strategy Team. She works closely with marketing, public relations, legal and quality assurance, providing thought leadership and regulatory guidance to communicate Culver’s commitment to quality and where their food comes from. Sarah is actively engaged in shaping Culver’s sustainability and animal welfare positioning and holds a leadership role within the US Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.

 

Neva Cochran, MS, RDN, LD, FAND
Secretary

 

Neva Cochran is a Dallas-based nutrition communications consultant to a variety of food, nutrition and agricultural organizations. She is passionate about promoting fact-based food and nutrition information to help people eat beyond the headlines and enjoy a variety of nutrient-rich foods. An active member of the Academy, she has served as President of both the Dallas and Texas Academies, a national Academy media spokesperson, member of the House of Delegates, Chair of the Academy Foundation and member of the Board of Directors. She was a 2012 recipient of the Academy’s Medallion Award and the 2016 Texas Academy’s Outstanding Preceptor Award. 
 
N. Elaine Farley-Zoucha, RD, LMNT

  Elaine is the owner and President of EZ Nutrition Consulting, PC & Associates, specializing in Food Service Systems, Geriatric Care, and Quality Management for long term care facilities.  As a national speaker on nutrition and culture change in long term care, she inspires her audience to lead and empower their staff  to enhance the dining experience for the clients they serve.

Tori Schmitt, MS, RDN, LD

Tori Schmitt, MS, RDN, LD is the founder of YES! Nutrition, LLC, an Ohio-based nutrition communications company and private practice helping others say “YES!” to living a more nutritious, energized life. Tori works with industry brands and organizations to develop evidence-based creative content, including customized food and nutrition videos, live social media broadcasts and blogs. Tori regularly provides nutrition expertise for the media and has been featured in U.S. News & World Report, Women’s Health, Fitness, and SHAPE




Nikki Nies, MS, RD
Membership Chair
  Nikki’s a clinical dietitian in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Previously, she interned at Brinker International, the parent company for Chili’s/Maggiano’s aiding in recipe testing and nutrient analysis. Nikki’s an active member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and most recently she served on the Academy’s Member Services Advisory Committee and as the Texas Academy Northeast Region Director. Nikki’s the 2018 Northeast Region Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year.

Dustin T. Reed, MS, RD
Virtual Conference Chair

Dustin is originally from Lexington Kentucky, he spent his childhood on a historic horse farm in the area. He attended the University of Kentucky where he received his Bachelor's and Master's in Dietetics. After graduation he started work as a lead clinical dietitian for Compass Group. His current role with Compass is as a Customer Experience Manager and Project Manager on the corporate level. In addition to his work experience Dustin sits on the executive board for several non profits and manages political campaigns. He currently resides in Richmond Virginia with his wife, son, and two dogs.

Allison Stock, RD
Business Insights Newsletter Editor
  Allison Stock is the Team Lead for the Nutrition Resource Center at Gordon Food Service.  Her primary focus is writing healthcare menus for senior living communities,  training customers in the Cycle Menu Management software program and creating nutrition and food safety tools and resources. She attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics with a specialization in Health Promotion. She currently serves as the Associate Newsletter Editor for Dietitians in Business and Communications (DBC).

Nicole Arcilla, MS, RD
Marketing and Communications Team Chair
 

 

Nicole is the 2019-2020 Marketing and Communications Chair for DBC. She has worked with the executive committee since 2015 and served in several roles including creating social media content and as the Newsletter Editor. Outside of DBC, Nicole is the Wellness & Sustainability Manager for Restaurant Associates at The World Bank Group. On her spare time Nicole loves to eat and drink her way through the DC Metro Area!



Alexis Ray, RYT, RD, CSSD
 Associate Editor
  Alexis Ray is a Wellness Specialist for Plus One Health Management where she provides nutrition counseling, group presentations, and oversees nutrition operations for the onsite gym. She received her M.S. in Exercise and Sports Nutrition from Texas Woman's University and her B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University. Alexis is also a Registered Yoga Teacher in the Dallas area. She enjoys combining her passion for both nutrition and yoga into her career. Karina Jaime Carbajal

Karina Jaime Carbajal is DBC’s Newsletter Editor and Creative Content Cochair. She graduated from San Diego State University in May of 2018 with a major in Foods and Nutrition and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. While attending SDSU, she was as a Peer Heath Educator and an intern for the SDSU’s Well-being and Health Promotion Department’s Registered Dietitian. Her next goal is to enter and complete a Dietetic Internship to become a Registered Dietitian herself. 
Jackie Schulz, MS, RD, LDN

Jackie Schulz, MS, RD, LDN is the Nutrition Lead for Kraft Heinz North America.  She received her B.S. in Dietetics from the University of California, Davis and her M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from Rush University in Chicago.Prior roles include sales, nutrition marketing, regulatory affairs, and product development.  As a Registered Dietitian with a background in pediatric nutrition, she is passionate about effectively communicating evidence-based nutrition information to help individuals and groups improve their quality of life.

Sherry Coleman Collins

Sherry Coleman Collins is a metro-Atlanta based registered dietitian nutritionist and president of Southern Fried Nutrition Services, specializing in digestive wellness, food allergies and nutrition communications. She has spoken at dozens of professional conferences, is a frequent guest and freelance writer, and serves as an expert to the media. She spearheaded the developed the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Certificate of Training in Food Allergies and authored the Academy's Practice Paper on the Role of the RDN in Food Allergy Diagnosis and Management.  Find her online as @DietitianSherry everywhere.

Aaron is a Registered Dietitian, faculty member, lecturer and dietetic internship director at the University of Kentucky.  Prior to his current position, Aaron worked as a Clinical Dietitian for several years.  Recently, Aaron received his Master of Science in Dietetics Administration and then went on to earn his MBA in 2018. He enjoys combining his passions of business management and education and hopes to use them to further the dietetics profession.

Morgan Deihs, MS, RDN, LDN works as a food & nutrition communications strategist at Edelman, helping clients navigate the ever-changing food landscape and carry out successful food & nutrition marketing programs. She has established a strong nutrition foundation in clinical nutrition, research and nutrition communications. Morgan received her Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University, and completed her Dietetic Internship and Master of Science degree in clinical nutrition from Rush University Medical Center.
